z2o Sara Zanin is delighted to share the participation of artist Giovanni Kronenberg to Strata: arte italiana dal 2000. Le parole degli artisti, winner project of the tenth edition (2021) of the Italian Council - program for the international promotion of italian art of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture - curated by Vincenzo de Bellis and Alessandro Rabottini. 

 

Milan, July 21, 2023. A choral and interdisciplinary view of Italian visual culture through the words of 37 artists whose work has made a significant contribution to the national and international art scene since 2000: this is Strata: arte italiana dal 2000. Le parole degli artisti, a publication edited by Vincenzo de Bellis and Alessandro Rabottini.

The volume - with whose project the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation won the tenth edition of the Italian Council - is a personal account of encounters, friendships and professional relationships that the authors have cultivated over the past two decades.

The volume collects extensive individual conversations among the authors and artists representative of the Italian scene of the last two decades: Yuri Ancarani, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Francesco Arena, Rosa Barba, Elisabetta Benassi, Luca Bertolo, Rossella Biscotti, Chiara Camoni, Gianni Caravaggio, Giulia Cenci, Danilo Correale, Roberto Cuoghi, Enrico David, Patrizio di Massimo, Lara Favaretto, Formafantasma, Linda Fregni Nagler, Giuseppe Gabellone, Martino Gamper, Francesco Gennari, Massimo Grimaldi, Petrit Halilaj, Adelita Husni Bey, Giovanni Kronenberg, Luisa Lambri, Marcello Maloberti, Diego Marcon, Masbedo, Luca Monterastelli, Adrian Paci, Diego Perrone, Alessandro Pessoli, Paola Pivi, Pietro Roccasalva, Alessandro Sciarroni, Marinella Senatore, Francesco Vezzoli.

The conversations address the highlights of each artist's career, whose conceptual and formal instances are investigated, starting with the aesthetics, philosophy and politics underlying their work. Each conversation opens with an introduction edited by Micola Clara Brambilla, Federico Florian, and Bianca Stoppani.

 

Conceived in two editions - Italian and English - co-published by Lenz and Les Presses du réel, the publishing project will be presented at the venues of the four cultural partners (Camden Art Centre - London, Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro - Milan, Fridericianum - Kassel and Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein - Vaduz), beginning at the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro on September 15 at 6:30 p.m., in the presence of the authors.
